When I was ‘nesting’ last weekend, I found these stack of pictures of our trip to Zoo Negara with Umar last year when I was pregnant with Ali. I think I was about 6-7 months pregnant that time. That was Umar’s first trip to the zoo and he was 1 and half years old. Unfortunately the pictures album was hidden somewhere under the damped newspapers and it was taken using the SLR camera that I don’t have it in digital. So in order to restore the quite ruined pictures, I scanned those pics and make some ‘fixing’ to the damages. So, here they are, Umar’s First Trip to the Zoo, that I forgot to blog about, last year (now I remember why, because I was busy having another baby…boooo).

For those who have never been to Zoo Negara, you can the info such as opening hours and rates, getting there map, E-brochures and etc from their official website www.zoonegara.org.my. You can also wiki Zoo Negara here. Zoo Negara is a non-governmental organization that survives mainly through its gate collection and sponsorship from individuals, schools and corporate companies. To help the cute animals there, you can sponsor or adopt them by maintaining its annual food, enrichment and veterinary care. In return you will receive tax exemption on the amount you have sponsor and should you cover the complete cost, they will even put up a sponsorship plaque at a minimal fee.
There a numbers of them like Bobo the Bornean Orangutan, Melman the Giraffe, Motomoto the Badak Air (“the name so nice you say it twice – Madagascar 2”) and many more (okay, actually I made up the names) that ready for adoption. But unfortunately, all tigers are adopted. Should get one tiny tiger cub for Umar and Ali.
We will definitely will go back there and this time with Ali on tow (minus the little one).
Fakta Benar: Do you know that P. Ramlee’s famous movie, Masam-masam Manis was shoot in Zoo Negara. The lake scene where Cik Rokiah waiting for Cikgu Shaari for a first date and the after. Yes, folks, that was the Zoo Negara’s lake, now a home of hundreds of Phoenicopterus ruber (what else, the flamingos of course)
